OUR SERVICES — THREE ENGAGEMENT TYPES
Structured consulting for
industrial firms in Penang.
Three engagement types, each designed for a specific kind of question. Defined scope, fixed fee, written deliverable.
Back to HomeHOW WE WORK
Our approach to every engagement, regardless of type.
Every engagement at Anjung Konsult follows the same general structure, adapted to the scope and type of work. We begin by understanding the firm's situation through a short initial conversation — this is not billable time, and it is partly for our benefit as well as the client's. We want to understand whether the work is likely to be useful before either side commits to it.
If there is a reasonable fit, we prepare a brief scope document. This states clearly what the engagement covers, what it does not cover, what we will produce, when we will produce it, and what the fee is. Both sides sign this before any work begins. We do not start work on the basis of a verbal understanding.
During the engagement, the consultant leads the work directly — site visits, interviews, data review and writing. At the end, we deliver a reviewed written document. We do not send drafts for the client to finish. The document is our assessment and it says what we actually observed and concluded.

SERVICE 01
Operations Diagnostic for Mid-Size Manufacturers
A focused four-week engagement for established manufacturers in the Bayan Lepas, Batu Kawan and Penang Science Park industrial belts whose operations would benefit from a thoughtful outside reading. The diagnostic includes a structured site visit, conversations with the operations manager and one or two senior staff, and a short written summary identifying the few areas where considered effort is most likely to repay the investment. The deliverable is purposely brief and intended for use inside the firm. Suitable for plants employing between 80 and 400 staff.
What this engagement includes
- Half-day structured site visit with the operations manager
- One-to-one conversations with one or two senior staff members
- Review of any relevant process or production documentation the firm wishes to share
- Written summary — typically 10–15 pages — identifying the few highest-priority areas
- One follow-up call after the document is received to address questions
Best suited for
Manufacturing plants with 80–400 staff in the Penang industrial corridor that have not had a structured outside review recently, and whose leadership wants an honest reading of where operational attention would be best directed.

Contract Manufacturing Strategy Review
A considered engagement for contract manufacturers whose customer mix and contract terms have grown over time and would benefit from an outside review. Over eight weeks we work with the firm's commercial and operations leads to map the current customer concentration, examine the firm's exposure to changes in upstream sourcing, and prepare a written strategy review with a small set of measured options for the period ahead. We do not negotiate on the firm's behalf; the conversations remain with the firm's people.
What this engagement includes
- Customer concentration mapping across revenue and margin dimensions
- Assessment of upstream sourcing exposure and dependency patterns
- Review of current contract terms and commercial structure
- Fortnightly working sessions with commercial and operations leads
- Written strategy review — typically 20–30 pages — with a small set of measured options
Best suited for
Contract manufacturers whose business has grown to the point where customer concentration, upstream exposure or contract structure has become a visible concern for leadership, and where an independent outside view of the commercial shape would be useful.

SERVICE 03
Industrial Operating Model Redesign
A senior engagement for industrial firms whose operating model has grown alongside the business across two or three plants and now feels misaligned with how the firm wants to compete. Over five months we work with the leadership team to document the current shape, identify the few decisions that are creating drag, and prepare a redesigned operating model with a phased transition plan. Includes monthly steering sessions, a written framework, and ongoing advisory through the first phase of implementation. Suited to firms with consolidated revenues above RM 100 million.
What this engagement includes
- Full documentation of the current operating model across all plants
- Identification of structural decisions creating alignment drag
- Monthly steering sessions with the firm's leadership team
- Written redesigned operating model framework with phased transition plan
- Ongoing advisory support through the first implementation phase
Best suited for
Industrial groups with consolidated revenues above RM 100 million operating across two or three plants where the current operating model has become a source of strategic friction — particularly around decision rights, cross-plant coordination or alignment between plant management and group leadership.

BEST FOR
Operating Model Redesign
Industrial groups above RM 100M revenue where the operating structure across multiple plants is creating strategic friction and leadership wants a documented path forward.
STANDARDS
Professional protocols across all engagements.
Written scope before commencement
Every engagement begins with a written scope document agreed by both parties. Fees are fixed and stated. No work begins without this in place.
Confidentiality provision included
All scope documents include a confidentiality provision. Client information is not referenced externally without explicit written agreement. Compliance with PDPA 2010.
Senior-led throughout
The consultant scoping the engagement leads it from start to finish. No handoff to junior staff after initial meetings.
Independence maintained
No equity interests in client firms. No commissions from third-party vendors. Advisory independence is fundamental to the value of the work.
Reviewed document delivery
All written deliverables are reviewed internally before submission. Clients receive a finished document, not a working draft.
Scope held, not expanded
If scope needs to change, both parties agree in writing before the change. We do not expand engagements unilaterally to generate additional fee.

Fixed fees, agreed in writing before work begins.
