What kinds of firms are a good fit for your engagements?
We work with established manufacturers and industrial operators, typically in the Penang corridor — Bayan Lepas, Batu Kawan, Seberang Perai and the Science Park. The Operations Diagnostic suits plants with 80 to 400 staff. The Strategy Review and Operating Model work suit firms that have reached a scale where the original informal structures are creating friction. If your firm is still very early-stage, a structured engagement may not be the most useful use of time at this point.
How do engagements typically begin?
We start with a short conversation — usually thirty to forty-five minutes — where you describe the firm's current situation and what prompted you to consider an outside engagement. This lets us assess whether the work we do is likely to be useful, and lets you assess whether the fit feels right. If both sides are comfortable, we prepare a brief scope document before any work begins.
What is the time commitment required from our team?
For the Operations Diagnostic, we need the operations manager available for the site visit and one structured conversation, plus availability for follow-up questions where needed. For the Strategy Review and Operating Model work, we need regular access to the commercial and operations leads — typically structured sessions once a fortnight. We try to use your team's time purposefully and do not schedule meetings that are not necessary to the work.
What do we receive at the end of an engagement?
The deliverable depends on the engagement. The Operations Diagnostic produces a short written summary — typically ten to fifteen pages — identifying the main areas where further attention is worthwhile. The Strategy Review produces a written document with a small number of measured options. The Operating Model work produces a written framework with a phased transition plan. All documents are intended for internal use by the firm's leadership.
How is pricing structured and when is payment due?
Fees are fixed for each engagement type and agreed in the scope document before work begins. Payment terms are discussed during the initial conversation. We do not charge by the hour, and the fee does not increase if the work takes longer than expected.
How is sensitive operational information handled?
Information shared during an engagement is treated as confidential. We do not use client work as examples in marketing or reference it with other clients without explicit agreement. The scope document includes a confidentiality provision. We maintain a small client roster in part because it allows us to be genuinely attentive to each firm's situation and careful about how information is handled.
